Vintage Christmas

My mom is an avid antiques collector. For as long as I can remember, my mother has had two passions. Gardening and collecting antiques. Both of which have made me appreciate the simple things in life. Every thing in our house has a story behind it. My mom swears that when she holds an antique, she can almost hear the voices of the people who once owned it, so many years ago.

She has the most amazing collection of antique Christmas. And for the first time this year, we set it all up together in a wonderful display.

This is the most precious photograph of my Uncle John, my mother, and my Uncle Dan. Uncle Dan passed away before I was born, I would have loved to have known him. My mom and I were almost identical around this age. My sister Kim thinks it is actually quite scary!!

These pink trees are adorable!

The majority of this is up year round. I snuck in some vintage Christmas in similar colors.

This is a little vintage village I set up. It looks beautiful at night!

It seems as if we just finished putting it all up and it is already time to take it down again. Seeing it for such a short amount of time really makes me appreciate it when I do get to see it all again!

Seasons

I have been feeling very inspired and creative lately. The holiday season has come to an end but it has been one of the best ever! The weather here in Southern California was like nothing I have ever seen. Brightly colored trees and crisp, breezy evenings. We even had a full week of heavy rain right before Christmas! But of course, the weather gods didn't want us getting spoiled so it was clear skies and glaring sun right in time for Christmas morning. The heavy rain brought out the cutest little gathering of mushrooms in my backyard!
